Front cover

  1. The barcode on the magazine is well placed in the corner, and the cover price is located in the top of the magazine, The main article photo is very well displayed and takes up the majority of the front cover, it fits in very well with the whole cover, however I don’t like that the photo is a solid square and doesn't fit to the background, and the issue number is shown below the mast head.

The masthead is very well placed at the top of the magazine, catches the eye of the audience with it's style. The main cover line is very eye catching as it’s yellow on the darker background, and works well into the picture as part of the main cover title.

I feel that the audience is teenagers aged 15-19, as it's mainly teenagers on the front, and the plug in of the "Chance to win a £25 iTunes gift voucher" works well.

  2. The masthead is big, bold and catchy which seems to attract the audience. Mentioning the artists name along the top of the page and the genre at the bottom is good as it lets you know what you’ll be reading/seeing in the magazine so that you know what to expect. Good use of plugs to attract the audience, as everyone has itunes and would easily be attracted to win the voucher and to know the story of ‘DREx’. The feature article photo is big and eye catching as it would immediately attract the audience once the see the magazine. Overall you seem to have done a good job to attract your target audience.

  3. the masthead is the first thing i noticed on the page which is very good as its bold and stands out. the main article picture is connected to the main cover line very clearly, i like the picture. the only bad things are that the writing at the top of the page are not inline and the barcode overlaps just a little. overall i really like the front cover and it is presented well.
